POGI YOGYA 2023 SYMPOSIUM.jpg
The Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (POGI) held the 26th Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT POGI XXVI 2023) on July 24–26, 2023 at The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center. Carrying the theme “Recharge, Rebuild and Preparedness of Women’s Health”, the event featured a series of scientific symposia, discussions, and educational sessions for medical professionals.

One of the key sessions was the Lunch Symposium with the theme:
“New Paradigm in Infertility Assessment: Spermatogenesis and Oogenesis Programming using Active Folate.”

The symposium was delivered by Prof. Dr. Budi Wiweko, Sp.OG, FER, MPH and moderated by Prof. Dr. H. Mochammad Anwar, M.Med.Sc., Sp.OG., Subsp. FER on July 24, 2023.

The discussion highlighted a new paradigm in infertility assessment, particularly the role of active folate (5-MTHF) in supporting spermatogenesis and oogenesis. Active folate offers greater benefits compared to conventional folate, as it can be directly utilized by the body without requiring further enzymatic conversion.

Through this session, participants gained new insights into micronutrient-based approaches in fertility programs, contributing to the improvement of reproductive healthcare services in Indonesia.
