PT Simex Pharmaceutical Indonesia in collaboration with Gnosis by Lesaffre, conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity by organizing a health seminar attended by pregnant women and women preparing for pregnancy, with the theme :

“Active Folate Supplementation for Maternal & Pregnancy Health.”

The program was designed to enhance knowledge and understanding of the importance of evidence-based maternal nutrition, particularly the role of Active Folate with high bioavailability in supporting healthy fetal development and reducing the risk of neural tube defects (NTD).

The event was hosted by Ruby Pang (Regional Marketing & Communications Manager, Gnosis by Lesaffre) and officially opened by Lasse Sogaard (Global Head of Commercial, Gnosis by Lesaffre) and Kevin Pandya Widjaja (Deputy Director of PT Simex Pharmaceutical Indonesia).

Silvia Pisoni, Global Operations Marketing Director, opened the presentation session with the topic Active Folate Supplementation, followed by Dr. dr. A.A.G. Raka Budayasa, Sp.OG, SubSp. K.Fm, who presented Folate Nutrients for Pregnancy. He emphasized that consuming Active Folate at least three months before pregnancy until 12 weeks of gestation can reduce the risk of neural tube defects by up to 70 percent. In addition, Active Folate also helps reduce the risk of preeclampsia, low birth weight, and preterm birth. Unlike regular Folic acid, Active Folate is more easily absorbed by the body, providing optimal benefits for mother and fetus. The session concluded with a presentation by Merrylin Saragih, Head of Product, PT. Simex Pharmaceutical Indonesia, who added that the collaboration at this event aims to provide the best access to improved supplementation quality for pregnant women and women planning pregnancy in Indonesia.

This collaboration demonstrates the strong commitment of both partners to improving maternal and fetal health through a scientific, clinically based approach and active community participation. The program helps women who are planning pregnancy and those who are currently pregnant to understand the importance of Active Folate as a vital step toward healthy babies, while also providing practical insights into nutrition during pregnancy.
